Sam's Town Point is an unpretentious and beloved hangout that's been in South Austin since 1986, just a few years after Allens Boots first opened its doors in 1977. They say the road in looks like the road out and that's just how we like it.
About Sam's
Established by Penny Grossman, who sadly passed away last year, Sam’s Town Point maintains her vision of a working-class neighborhood joint even as Austin’s growth explodes around it. There’s no better place to hear and see authentic artists. Stop by almost any Saturday night and see the keeper of the flame Ramsay Midwood and maintain a little piece of your soul for the long haul. Don’t forget to tip your hat (or your glass) to Penny’s traditional seat at the end of the bar.
